Body

The Ateneo Center for Asian Studies (ACAS) envisions to become a leading center of Asian Studies in the Philippines and the Global South as it pursues the following goals:

  • To advance interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary scholarship and exchange on Asian realities and issues from a Global South perspective.

  • To serve as a convenor for knowledge mobilization globally through activities that encompass academic and cultural exchange, and popular engagement.

  • To enhance the geographic expertise of Philippine scholars and practitioners.

At its home base under the Office of the Dean of the Dr Rosita G Leong School of Social Sciences, ACAS carries out its mandate through a biennial international conference, publications, sponsorship of research projects, hosting of senior researchers, courses on language and culture, and other activities that foster interest in Asian Studies.
