ACAS International Conference on Asian Studies
This academic conference has been held every two years since 2000 to foster interdisciplinary scholarship, facilitate knowledge exchange on themes in contemporary Asian society and culture, and strengthen Asian Studies as a discipline in Asian universities. It brings together university faculty and research staff, independent researchers, policymakers, journalists, civil society, and think-tank teams from all over Asia as well as Asianists from Europe, North America and other regions. The two-day conference usually features plenary sessions for talks of distinguished resource persons, parallel sessions for research presentations, workshops, exhibits, cultural and social events woven around a contemporary topic of urgent interest in the region.
