Flavors of Asia
Flavors of Asia is a lecture-demonstration series initiated by the Ateneo Center for Asian Studies (ACAS) in 2018, exploring the rich intersections of food, culture, and history across the diverse societies of Asia. Designed as both an academic and experiential platform, the series brings together scholars, culinary experts, and cultural practitioners to examine the socio-historical contexts, symbolic meanings, and evolving traditions of Asian cuisines. Since its inception, Flavors of Asia has featured Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, and Malaysian cuisines, offering participants the opportunity to engage with the unique flavors, preparation techniques, and cultural narratives embedded in each culinary tradition.
