2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Trophy Tour stops at Ateneo de Manila

The FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025 trophy made a special stop at Ateneo de Manila on 18 June 2025, as part of its Philippine tour. The event, held at the Blue Eagle Gym and the statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola, aimed to build excitement for the upcoming tournament in Shenzhen, China this July.
Among the national team members is Kacey Dela Rosa of Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Organized by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), the trophy tour celebrates the growing support for women's basketball in the country.
Erika Dy, an Ateneo alumna and BSP Executive Director, emphasized the importance of bringing the trophy to local universities, highlighting the vital connection between grassroots development and national representation.
The visit not only showcased the prestige of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup but also serves as an inspiration for young women Filipino athletes to dream bigger and strive for the international stage.
