Rising fencing star Hannah Belarmino makes Top 4 in 5th Leg of National Ranking Open

Incoming Grade 12 Ateneo de Manila Senior High School student-athlete Hannah Belarmino (11-Perez, SY 2024–2025) delivered a strong performance at the 5th Leg of the Senior Ranking Open, earning a bronze medal and finishing 4th overall in the Senior Women’s Foil event. The tournament was held on 5-6 June 2025 at the Ormoc Super Dome in Ormoc City, Leyte.
Organized by the Philippine Fencing Association (PFA), the Senior Ranking Open is considered the most competitive fencing tournament in the country. It draws top-tier athletes vying for a spot on the Philippine National Fencing Team. Consistent top-four finishes across the ranking legs are crucial for qualification to prestigious international competitions such as the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and the Asian Games.
Just days earlier, at the PFA 2nd Leg Junior and Cadet Ranking Competition held from 3-4 June in the same venue, Belarmino also made an impressive mark—winning a silver medal in Junior Women’s Foil and a bronze medal in Cadet Women’s Foil.
