Recent Ateneo de Manila Grade School graduate Aidan Taguinod (6-Pignatelli) reached two incredible milestones in fencing two months before his graduation on 23 May 2025.
At the Singapore Minime 1.0 Tournament held from 21-23 March 2025, Aidan captured his first individual silver medal in an international competition in the U12 Men’s Sabre category. Hosted at SBH East Coast @Expo in Changi, Singapore, the event brought together top sabre fencers from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Aidan’s performance stood out on the international stage, showcasing both his skill and determination.
Just days later, on 28-29 March, Aidan achieved another significant feat in the First Hefeng Cup National Children and Youth Fencing Competition held in Taipei, Taiwan. Competing in the U11 Men’s Sabre category, he brought home his first international gold medal. Organized by the Taiwan Junior and Children Fencing League, the event took place at the Shulin Sports Ground in New Taipei City. Aidan delivered a dominant performance in the finals with a commanding 10-1 victory, emerging as champion among 58 fencers from Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
