Blue Eagles are first time winners of UAAP JHS 3x3 Basketball Crown; Sky Jazul is MVP

The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles clinched their very first UAAP Junior High School Boys' 3x3 Basketball crown on 4 May 2025. Players Sky Jazul (9-Garnier), JD Juangco (9-Garate), Zane Kallos (10-Rubio), YJ Lacsamana (9-Gelabert), and Q Molina (10-Nagashima) completed a perfect sweep of the U16 JHS division of UAAP Season 87 with a decisive 22-19 (9:58) victory over the UST Junior Tiger Cubs. Adding to the triumph, Sky Jazul was recognized as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the division.
As reported by Tiebreaker Times, Sky Jazul "caught fire" in the final against UST, "...draining four deuces en route to 11 points and leading Ateneo to its first-ever high school 3x3 title."
MVP Sky Jazul – son of Letran great RJ Jazul – told Tiebreaker Times that he and his teammates fought for Ateneo by remaining focused on the game. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play and experience a successful 3x3 tournament.
The Blue Eagles were expertly coached by Reggie Aromin (head coach), Bart Bartolome (strength and conditioning coach), and Ayra Mendoza (physical therapist). The team's dedicated student managers were Banjo Dungca (12-Beyzym), Dennise Go (12-Beyzym), Anton Lumunsad (12-Arnaiz), and Max Nocos (12-Daniel). The team's reserve players were Stef Bernarte (9-Garate) and Domeng Ngo (9-Lewis).

The UAAP Season 87 JHS Boys' Basketball Championship was held at Homecourt in Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque, beginning on 28 April and concluding on Sunday, 4 May 2025. Other schools that participated in the JHS division were Adamson University, De La Salle Zobel, Far Eastern University, National University Nazareth School, University of the East, University of Santo Tomas, and University of the Philippines Integrated School.
