AHS girls' volleyball team places 2nd in Everest tourney; 3 Blue Eagles receive individual awards

Composed of players from junior high school and senior high school, the Ateneo de Manila High School girls' volleyball team bagged the U18 1st runner-up trophy in the Everest International Academy Volleyball Invitational (EIAVI) on 15 March 2025. The Blue Eagles bested Everest, Domu Schola, Poveda and Junior Elite Volleyball Camp, bowing only to eventual champion De La Salle Zobel in a valiantly fought two-set finals game.

In addition, three Ateneans were awarded individual medals: Best Setter, Jona Ajon (7-Ashley); Best Middle Blocker, Luanne Atienza (11-Owen); and Best Opposite Hitter, Nicola Ladignon (12-Gonzalez).


Rostered in the team are Jona Ajon, Natalie Barroca (7-Aranha), Lexi Buenaventura (7-Alfonso), Avary Lister (7-Borgia), and Irene Yaranon (7-Baena) from AJHS; and Rian Ardidon (12-Bobola), Luanne Atienza, Fobi Castellano (11-Garnet), Jelena Dait (11-Goupil), Gian Damian (11-Borgia), Tiffany Foo (11-Perez), Ysa Gomez (11-Moscoso), Nicola Ladignon, and Thaea Ramos (12-Solinas) from ASHS. They are coached by Babes Castillo (head), Franz Damian (assistant), Michael Jay Regala (assistant), and Anne Funiestas (physical therapist), and led by team captain Rian Ardidon.
The competition was held at the Everest Academy Manila campus in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, on Saturday, 15 March 2025.
