AJHS swimmer Karl Cziomer wins gold for PH in Thailand invitational

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School varsity swimmer Karl Cziomer (8-Corby) won two medals – a gold and a bronze – in the recent 5th Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Swimming Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand. The gold was for the 800m freestyle while the bronze was for the 200m freestyle.

The AOSI was held at the Aquatics Center of Assumption University Suvarnabhumi Campus in Bangkok and ran from 6 to 9 February 2025. The tournament gathered over 1,150 athletes from 18 countries, including a contingent of 331 swimmers representing the Philippines.
Organized by Global Aquatics, supervised by the Royal Thai Air Force Club, and sanctioned by the Thailand Aquatics Association (TAA), AOSI 2025 aimed to foster sportsmanship, cultural unity, and international collaboration among young swimmers. The event not only provided a platform for outstanding swimmers to showcase their talents but also promoted inclusivity and cultural exchange in the region.
