AGS golfers place 2nd in JGFP Inter-School tourney; Race Manhit is middle school 3-peat champ

Ateneo de Manila Grade School brought home the 2nd place trophy in the middle school division of the recent Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) Inter School Championship Tournament. Rostered in the team of Blue Eagles are Race Manhit (6-Miki), Luis Espinosa (5-T’boli), EC Aguirre (4-Humabon), Deus Malapitan (5-Mangyan), and Ross Tecson (5-Dumagat).

Individually, Race Manhit led the flock with 200 points and bagged his middle school three-peat title win (2023-2025) in the individual boys’ championship division. Luis Espinosa scored 185 points for 2nd place, while EC Aguirre took fifth place with 157 points.

The tournament ran from 14 September 2024 to 16 February 2025 in the following venues:
Intramuros, 14 September 2024
Caliraya Springs, 12-13 October 2024 and 15-16 February 2025
Royale Tagaytay, 22 September 2024 and 19 January 2025
Cattle Creek, 1 December 2024
Eagle Ridge, 25 January 2025
The six participating schools in the middle school team competition were Ateneo de Manila, Assumption Antipolo, Xavier School San Juan, Woodrose, De La Salle Zobel, and La Salle Greenhills.
Coached by Jong Castañeda, the AGS golf team has consistently landed podium finishes in the JGFP Inter School tournament since 2019.
