(Two other AJHS students- brothers Noah Tudla [8-Delgado] and Jacob Tudla [10-Spinola]- represented Quezon City and bagged a bronze medal each for jiu jitsu at Batang Pinoy 2024 as well.)
Organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Batang Pinoy (aka the Philippine Youth Games) is the national youth sports competition of the Philippines for athletes between 12 and 17 years old. The competition was created to determine the possible composition of the national pool of athletes that will compete internationally in tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics.
Batang Pinoy 2024 was held from 23 – 28 November 2024 across various sports venues in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Around 12,000 young athletes from 177 LGUs participated in 30 sporting events, which for the first time included jiu-jitsu, kurash and obstacle course.
