Ateneo HS is table tennis doubles champ of QC Unit and Division Meets; Quiming, Basco, Pachica advance to NCR Meet

Composed of athletes from AJHS and ASHS, Ateneo de Manila’s high school table tennis contingent won several medals - including a championship – in the AAPS Quezon City Unit Meet held last 21 October 2024 and in the Quezon City Division Meet held last 14 December 2024. Emerging as doubles champions in both the QC Unit Meet and the QC Division Meet were Rajel Quiming (11-Perez) & Matt Basco (10-Nagashima). Meanwhile, Timothy Pachica (9-Lalemant) placed second in both the boys’ singles event of the AAPS tournament and the QC Division Meet. For her part, Anica Begonia (12-Miki) placed 2nd in the AAPS girls’ singles, and 3rd in the same event of the QC Division Meet.
Following their respective gold and silver medal wins in the Division Meet, Quiming & Basco will advance to the NCR Meet as QC’s boys’ doubles representatives, as Pachica will rep QC in boys’ singles.
The Blue Eagles were coached by Mihali Crisostomo and Leo Raymundo for both tournaments. The AAPS QC Unit Meet was held in Kings Montessori in Quezon City on 21 October 2024, while the QC Division Meet was held on 14 December 2024 at Diosdado Macapagal Elementary School, also in Quezon City.
