Representing Quezon City, AJHS siblings Jacob Tudla (10-Spinola) and Noah Tudla (8-Delgado) both won bronze medals for jiu jitsu in the Batang Pinoy 2024 competition held in Palawan last November. Despite being the youngest in his division at just 15 years old, Jacob competed in the juvenile 18-under 60 kg category, earning bronze. Meanwhile, his younger brother Noah competed in the 13-under 48 kg category, also bagging bronze.

Batang Pinoy 2024 marked the inaugural inclusion of jiu jitsu in the national games, making all participants, including Jacob and Noah, trailblazing athletes in this historic milestone. Their achievements not only showcase their remarkable dedication and skill but also contribute to the advancement of jiu jitsu.
Organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Batang Pinoy (aka the Philippine Youth Games) is the national youth sports competition of the Philippines for athletes between 12 and 17 years old. The competition was created to determine the possible composition of the national pool of athletes that will compete internationally in tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics.
Batang Pinoy 2024 was held from 23 – 28 November 2024 across various sports venues in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Around 12,000 young athletes from 177 LGUs participated in 30 sporting events, which for the first time included jiu-jitsu, kurash and obstacle course.
