Grade 7 fencer Eliam Mojica bags bronze in Malaysia for U-12 Men's Team Sabre

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) student athlete Eliam Mojica (7-Aranha) won a medal for the Philippines in the 3rd Malaysian Fencing Federation Minime International Tournament held recently in Kuala Lumpur. Eliam bagged a bronze in the U-12 Men’s Team Sabre, where he was teamed with AGS student Aidan Taguinod (6-Pignatelli) and two non-Ateneans.

Ateneo’s sabre coaches are Rebekah Reyno and Edward Daliva, who also accompanied the Ateneo contingent to Malaysia and coached the Blue Eagles for the event.
Held from 30 November to 5 December 2024, the Minime International Tournament attracted competitors from fencing schools in the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Eliam Mojica is also an award-winning baseball player who has represented the country in local and international competitions.
