Grade 10 Blue Eagle Zane Kallos is MVP and Mythical 5 selection of UAAP 87's JHS tourney

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Blue Eagle Zane Kallos (10-Rubio) was recently named the first-ever regular Most Valuable Player of the UAAP Season 87 Junior High School Boys’ Basketball Tournament. The 6-foot, 16-year-old winger was also named a Mythical Five selection.
Zane received the trophies during an awarding ceremony held prior to Game Two of the JHS Boys’ Basketball Finals on 15 December 2024 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Per a Tiebreaker Times report, Kallos averaged “18.46 points, 13.23 rebounds, 5.15 assists, 1.92 steals, and 0.46 blocks per game to amass a league-best 95.308 statistical points.”
On what it felt like to receive two of the UAAP’s most coveted honors, Zane said, “Para sa akin, sobrang saya at grateful ako sa coaches ko kasi binigyan nila ako ng trust at support, tsaka lalo na sa mga teammates ko dahil lagi nila ako pinupush to be the best player I can be.”
