Ateneo in 3-way-tie for top spot with Xavier, San Beda Alabang in PRADA basketball tourney

With a 5-1 record in the ongoing PRADA tournament, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School's PAYA/PRADA Juniors basketball team is currently in a three-way-tie for 1st place with Xavier School and San Beda Alabang. The tournament is in its fourth week (having begun in late October 2024), and while Xavier School and San Beda Alabang are where they are expected to be, the Blue Eagles have surprised many with only one loss to San Beda Taytay.
As of 6 December 2024, Ateneo has beaten San Beda Alabang, Don Bosco Technical Institute, Notre Dame, Marist School, and PRADA defending champion Lourdes School of Mandaluyong. Grade 12 students Anton Adevoso, Santino Palma-Gil and Enzo Urro have been leading the charge for the Blue and White, along with grade 11 students Isaiah Lanot, Jared Magpoc, Coco Santos and Sancho Enrique.
The small team of players with big, blue fighting hearts is composed of Anton Adevoso (12-Evans), Lucas Bautista (11-Borja), Pepu Beley (11-Escribano), Sancho Enrique (11-Moscoso), Cobi Fetalvero (12-Daniel), Ralph Gregorio (12-Arnaiz), MJ Imson (12-Bobola), Gabe Jorge (12-Bobola), Isaiah Lanot (11-Fontoura), Bugsy Lavarro (11-Escribano), Javier Lopez (11-Hoyos), Jared Magpoc (11-Fontoura), Gio Mathay (12-Evans), Santino Palma-Gil (12-Acquaviva), Luis Reyes IV (11-Garnet), Coco Santos (11-Garnet), Drake Tagudin (11-Garnet), and Enzo Urro (12-Anchieta). They are coached by JM Pilares (head) and Jeff Mangubat (assistant).
The team will face Xavier, LaSalle Greenhills and Don Bosco Mandaluyong in the next weekends. The community is invited to support the Ateneo PRADA Juniors at their games in Xavier School San Juan City.
