AGS Midgets G is RIFA football tourney's Phase 1 champ; Daquigan is MVP

Ateneo de Manila Grade School's Midgets G/Born-2017 football team emerged as champion of the recent RIFA Phase 1 Football Tournament. In addition, Hugo Daquigan (2-Acacia) was named MVP. 

Coached by Aldous Mirafuentes and Vince Agapito, the Blue Eagles demonstrated outstanding skill and teamwork, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament without any losses or draws against strong competitors such as Xavier A, Xavier B, Southridge A, Southridge B, Ateneo B (Midgets H), Claret, Colegio San Agustin, and San Beda Antipolo.

Rostered in the team are Juan Baquiran (1-Malikhain), Pocholo Castro (2-Ipil), Vito Castro (2-Talisay), Christiano Corpus (2-Kamagong), Hugo Daquigan, Zio Dizon (2-Ipil), Pio Flameño (2-Bargas), Levi Laiz (1-Magalang), Dion Lozano (2-Tanguile), Kian Molina (2-Bargas), Iko Osite (2-Kamagong), Lucas Rosanes (2-Kamagong), Matti Timbol (2-Banaba), Cayden Torres (2-Talisay) and Rocco Verzosa (2-Mulawin).

The tournament was held over three Saturdays- Sept 21 & 28 and Oct 5 2024 - in the Ocampo Field of Ateneo de Manila University’s Loyola Heights Campus.
