ASHS jins Pasion, Leones and Favila win medals in elite nat'l tourney for black belters

Three Ateneo de Manila Senior High School jins successfully competed in the Smart/MVPSF Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships 2024 held last week. Alonzo Pasion (12-Oldcorne) and Stefanie Leones (12-Pro) both won silver, while Max Favila (11-Bellarmino) bagged bronze. Coached by Elmer Rafael, Jason Locsin, and Joey Paja, the Ateneans competed fiercely against members of the Philippine team as well as UAAP and NCAA varsity athletes.
Held on 7-8 September 2024 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City, the tournament gathered no less than 750 black belters from all over the country. The level of competition was such that only black belters who had previously secured gold and silver medals in national taekwondo competitions held from 2022 to 2024 were qualified to participate.
