Who is the pioneering female Atenean who won two gold medals for gymnastics in a recent international competition? Let’s put our hands together for Corryne Posadas of 1-Malusog, the first ever Grade 1 girl from Ateneo de Manila Grade School to win not one but three medals for the Philippines in gymnastics!

Representing the country as a member of the Primal Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Corryne – who just turned six - took home two golds, one silver, and one special award in the 7th Asia Pacific Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament held in Hong Kong from 8-11 August 2024. The two golds were for the all-around Amateur Level (8 under category) and the Ball Apparatus. She also won silver for Freehand and was awarded the Miss Flex title, one of six special awards that “celebrate the intangible qualities that empower individuals, radiate positivity, and inspire confidence, highlighting the importance of inner beauty and self-assurance,” per the organizers.
Now in its seventh year, the Asia Pacific Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament 2024 was held at the Hong Kong Christian Alliance International School, attracting more than 300 skilled and dazzling gymnasts from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, China, and Taiwan.
