Swimmer Ivo Enot wins 7 medals and sets new record at Palaro 2024

Recent Ateneo de Manila Senior High School graduate and Moro Lorenzo Sportsman of the Year awardee Ivo Enot (12-Evans in SY 2023-2024) successfully represented the National Capital Region (NCR) at Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City, winning seven medals and setting a new record in secondary boys’ swimming. His achievements include two golds (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke), four silvers (200m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 4x100m freestyle relay, 4x100m medley relay), one bronze (200m freestyle), and a new record for the 100m backstroke. As previously reported, his record-setting Palaro time of 59.34 seconds in the secondary boys’ 100m backstroke on July 12 broke the previous record of 59.64 seconds set in the 2017 Palaro games by Gerard Jacinto.

Palarong Pambansa 2024’s swimming events were held from July 11-14 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) Aquatics Center. NCR emerged as the overall champion of Palaro’s swimming events with 21 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze medals.
NCR was also crowned overall champion of Palarong Pambansa 2024 for the 17th year in a row, with a haul of 98 gold, 66 silver, and 74 bronze medals across 20 sport disciplines.
Around 15,000 delegates from the Philippines’ 17 regions joined the event, which was held from 9-16 July 2024 in Cebu City.
