Born-2013 Blue Eagles are RIFA 2nd Phase Champions; Jacob Navarro is MVP

Composed of Ateneo de Manila Grade School students in grades 4 and 5, the Ateneo Midgets D/ Born-2013 football team emerged as Champion of the RIFA 2nd Phase Football Tournament on April 12, 2024. In addition, Jacob Navarro (5-Bagobo) was named MVP.
Rostered in the team are Ethan Alferez (5-Bagobo), Red Alminar (5-Tausug), Zach Bautista (5-Ivatan), Jose Bernal (5-Ifugao), Gab Castro (4-Maniago), Marcus Cuyugan (4-Sultan Kudarat), Zac Diaz (5-Ivatan), Niall Enciso (5-Tausug), Ryu Famorcan (5-Subanon), Daniel Guerrero Jr. (5-Maguindanao), Kenzie Maglonso (5-Talaandig), Ryan Moti (5-T’boli), Jacob Navarro, Miggy Pineda (4-Marikudo), Temujin Posadas (5-Ivatan), Vayil Querol (5-Maranaw), Teo Roman (5-Maranaw), Miguel Tagarda (4-Sultan Kudarat), Ethan Villanueva (5-Mangyan), and Atlantis Villaseñor (5-Kalinga).
Coached by JP Merida (head), Paeng Cruz (assistant) and Jerwin Belina (assistant), the boys demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, securing victories against formidable opponents such as Ateneo B (Born 2014), Hedcen, Colegio San Agustin (CSA), and Claret School of Quezon City.
The games for the RIFA 2nd Phase Tournament were played at Ateneo de Manila’s Moro Lorenzo football field in Quezon City.
