Ateneo Born 2008-2009 is RIFA Aspirants A Champion

(Late post) On 21 October 2023, during the finals match against International School Manila, the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Born 2008-2009 Football Aspirants team won the RIFA Aspirants A Tournament in a game that had more than its fair share of under-the-wire action. After a full-time draw, the Blue Eagles snatched the win via penalty shootout, 4-2.
Rostered in the team are Shainito Abraham (9-Garate), Iori Alminar (10-Saito), Anton Altuna (9-Garnier), Lorenzo Altuna (10-Page), Darryl Ang (9-Isore), Diego Angeles (10-Realino), TJ Bellosillo (9-Grimaltos), Ray Chavez (9-Grimaltos), Odie Demetria (9-Ishida), Ivan Gabasa (9-Garnier), Luna Hernaez (9-Isore), Andres Hizon (10-Pires), Jose Ilagan (9-Ireland), Andrew Landicho (10-Pongracz), Toti Mamon (9-Harcourt), Ivan Quierrez (9-Gelabert), Tiago Remulla (10-Pongracz), Gab Reyes (9-Gelabert), Manu Simpao (9-Kisai), Trey Solis (9-Grimaltos), Roman Tabayoyong (10-Saito), Johnson Talosig (10-Regis). They were coached by Ompong Merida (head) and Gerrick Eviota (assistant).
The tournament was held from 4-21 October 2023 at International School Manila in BGC, Taguig.
