AJHS Team 1 is developmental division champ of JGFP golf tourney

Composed of AJHS students Joachim Castillo (9-Grimaltos), Aiden Cruz (7-Alonso), Andrei Cruz (7-Arrowsmith), Xandrei David (7-Ashley), and Heaven Libay (8-Chabanel), Ateneo Junior High Team 1 won the developmental division title of the Junior Golfers Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) Interschool Championships on 27 January 2024. Xandrei David also emerged as champion of the individual category’s developmental division, while Jared Junsay (9-Ireland) was named 2nd runner-up.
Among those the Blue Eagles bested were teams/individuals from British School Manila, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, ICA, and Xavier San Juan. Team 1 maintained its Rank 1 standing all throughout the six rounds of games since the JGFP Interschool developmental championships began in October and concluded in late January. In the finals, the Blue Eagles swept DLSZ with 311-287 Stableford points for the championship title.
The Blue Eagles were coached by Andre Casimiro for the tournament, which was held from 7 October 2023 to 27 January 2024 in four golf courses: Caliraya Springs Golf Club (7 & 8 October 2023, 14 & 21 January 2024) in Laguna, Summit Point Golf and Country Club (22 & 29 October 2023) in Batangas, Club Intramuros (2 December 2023) in Manila, and Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club (7 & 27 January 2024).
