AGS golfers are back-to-back middle school champs of JGFP nationals

Composed of Juanton Cruz (6-Gonzaga), Luis Espinosa (4-Tupas), Deus Malapitan (4-Diego Silang), Race Manhit (5-Ifugao), and Ross Tecson (4-Maniago), AGS Golf Team 2 won the middle school division championship of the Junior Golfers Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) National Interschool Championships on February 11, 2024. It was a back-to-back victory for Ateneo, which also won the middle school title last year.


Meanwhile, AGS Golf Team 1- comprised of Javie Bautista (6-Regis), Hans David (6-Kostka), Iñigo Gallardo (6-Hurtado), Lujo Gomez (6-Hurtado), and Kyle Tecson (6-Claver) – took first runner-up honors.

Race Manhit emerged as the individual category’s middle school division champion for the second year in a row, while Javie Bautista claimed first runner-up honors.

The Blue Eagles were coached by Jong Castañeda for the nationals, which were held from February 9-11, 2024, at Caliraya Springs Golf Club in Cavinti, Laguna.
