Blue Eagles place 3rd in UAAP Season 86 Fencing Tourney

Composed of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School and Senior High School student-athletes, the Ateneo Blue Eagles emerged as the junior boys’ division 2nd runners-up in the recent UAAP Season 86 Fencing Tournament. Their medal haul was one silver and five bronzes in six events.
Rostered in the team are Matthew General (10-Rodriguez), Mairon Moulic (10-Pignatelli), Jour Parayno (9-Goto), Derek Perez (10-Nelson), Enrico Ronsayro (10-Pires), and Julian Rosaros (10-Rubio) from the AJHS; and Adam Aceron (11-Angelis), Faber Cabrera (11-Bellarmino), Angelo Delos Santos (12-Miki), Zeb Largo (11-Tsuji), and Iñaki Torres (12-Xavier) from ASHS.

The medals won by the Blue Eagles are as follows:
Adam Aceron, Matthew General, Mairon Moulic, and Julian Rosaros: silver, boys’ sabre team
Adam Aceron, Jour Parayno, Derek Perez, and Iñaki Torres: bronze, boys’ foil team
Adam Aceron, Faber Cabrera, Angelo Delos Santos, and Zeb Largo: bronze, boys’ épée team
Mairon Moulic: bronze, boys’ sabre individual
Derek Perez: bronze, boys’ foil individual
Faber Cabrera: bronze, boys’ épée individual






They were coached for the competition by Edward Daliva and Bekah Reyno for sabre, Veena Nuestro for épée, and Rupert Endriano for foil. The Program Head of Ateneo Fencing is Ryan Janeo.
The UAAP Season 86 Fencing Tournament was held from March 14-17, 2024, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila. The other participating schools in the boys’ division were De La Salle Zobel, University of the East, and University of Santo Tomas.
