Cross Acal secures silver in 'Best of the Best' TKD tourney

Ateneo de Manila Grade School student athlete Cross Acal (6-Faber) won a silver medal for sparring/kyorugi in the recent Smart/MVP Sports Foundation’s 2023 Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships.
Held on September 3 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City, the event was open only to black belts who had previously won a gold or silver medal at a competition sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA). Around 900 bemedaled male and female taekwondo jins from our country’s 19 regions joined the prestigious event.
Cross is the captain of the Ateneo Grade School Taekwondo Varsity, and is coached and trained by Joey Paja and Karla Jane Alava.
