Enot and Tirol win more medals for NCR in Palaro’s last days

In the last three days of Palarong Pambansa 2023, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School student athletes Ivo Enot and Renzo Tirol – both from 12-Evans- added to their medal hauls as swimmers for team NCR.
On August 3, Enot secured three additional medals for secondary boys’ events: a bronze for the 100m freestyle, a silver for the 50m backstroke, and a gold for the 4x100m medley relay, for which Enot and NCR teammates Jalil Taguinod, Ivan Radovan and Yuan Parto also set a new record. The previous Palaro record for the event was set in 2017 with a time of 4:01.16. Enot and company shaved off less than a second with their new time of 4:00.75.

On August 5, the last day of the competition, Tirol added a silver for the 400m freestyle relay to his collection, bringing his total Palaro medal haul to one gold (a record for the secondary boys’ 200m freestyle relay), one silver, and two bronzes.

Enot’s total haul at Palaro 2023 was three golds (two records for the secondary boys’ 200m medley relay and 400m medley relay), one silver, and one bronze.
At the conclusion of the 2023 games, the NCR once again claimed the Palarong Pambansa overall title with a total of 85 gold, 74 silver, and 55 bronze medals won by its athletes.
Over 9,000 elementary and high school student athletes from the Philippines’ 17 regions competed in the event, whose theme was “Batang Malakas, Bansang Matatag.” Palarong Pambansa 2023 was held from August 1-5 and hosted by Marikina City.
