Born-2011 Blue Eagles are PRADA basketball champs

Ateneo de Manila Grade School’s Born-2011 basketball team emerged as champion and first runner-up of two recent basketball tournaments. On May 20, the Blue Eagles were crowned champions of the 2022-2023 Private Schools Athletic Division Association (PRADA) Mini Basketball Tournament, besting Don Bosco Technical Institute, La Salle Greenhills, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong, and San Beda Alabang. Two days prior, on May 18, the Blue Eagles placed second in the Philippine Athletic Youth Association (PAYA) 2022-2023 Developmental League Basketball Tournament. The other schools which participated in the PAYA games were Claret School of Quezon City, Colegio San Agustin, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, La Salle Greenhills, and Xavier School San Juan.
The Born-2011 team is composed of the following recent graduates and incoming AGS Grade 6 students (in parentheses are the boys’ sections in School Year 2022-2023): Joaquin Baliwag (6-Regis), Rajko Baluyot (6-Gonzaga), Mateo Beley (5-Maguindanao), Dros Carlos (5-Kalinga), Paulo De Belen (6-Claver), Angelo Dolera (6-De Brito), Manu Fernandez (6-Xavier), Markus Jimenez (6-Claver), Miguel Manalo (6-Bellarmine), Z Molina (6-Berchmans), Enzo Villarin (6-Faber), and Migo Yoro (6-Brebeuf). They were coached by Monroe Cueson II.



The PRADA tournament was held weekends and holidays from March 19 to May 20, 2023, in the basketball courts of Xavier School in San Juan. The PAYA tournament was held on weekends from March 18 to May 18, 2023, at Claret School of Quezon City and Xavier School San Juan.
