Three AGS jins win medals in first F2F national TKD tourney in years

Three Ateneo de Manila Grade School taekwondo jins won medal awards at the 2022 Smart/MVPSF 45th National Taekwondo Championships. Cross Acal (5-Bagobo) won a silver medal for sparring/kyorugi in the grade school black belt middleweight division, while Elvis Favila (5-Ifugao) won his silver medal for sparring/kyorugi in the grade school novice heavyweight division. Martin Gan (6-Pignatelli) bagged a bronze medal for kyorugi/sparring in the grade school male black division.
Held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay from September 3-4, 2022, the 45th National Taekwondo Championships attracted the best jins from all over the Philippines. It was also the first face-to-face national competition for the participants since the COVID pandemic resulted in a global lockdown that began in March 2020.
Cross, Elvis and Martin are members of the Ateneo de Manila Grade School Taekwondo Varsity and trained by Karla Jane Alava, Jobet Morales, Joey Paja, and Elmer Rafael.
