Kwan Laurel Endowment Donation for FIRE
28 Jul 2022
The School of Humanities is happy to receive a generous donation as part of the Kwan Laurel endowment for the University. This amount is for covering the tuition and fees of catechists in the graduate program of the Formation Institute of Religious Educators (FIRE) of the Department of Theology.
The School is very grateful for the donation. The scholarships afforded by the donation contribute to the FIRE's mission of forming religious educators who will “go forth and set the world aflame.” May this act of generosity fire us up as the new semester approaches.
The School thanks Dr Ruben Mendoza and Dr Rae Sanchez for negotiating this donation with Sunfu Solutions, and the Kwan Laurel family. The Kwan Laurel Endowment Fund in the Humanities had its inaugural lecture, by Prof. David Crystal, earlier this year. The Kwan Laurel family has committed to further increasing its participation in supporting the School of Humanities.
