Master of Arts in Literary and Cultural Studies (MA LitCS)
The MA in Literary and Cultural Studies (MA LitCS) degree is designed to provide high-level instruction to students who are (1) knowledgeable in theory and skilled in its application; (2) capable of analyzing contemporary literary and cultural issues critically; and (3) attuned to issues in Philippine literary and cultural studies scholarship.

Degree Requirements
A student is granted the degree after successfully completing the following requirements:
- 24 units of required courses
- 6 units of elective courses
- Comprehensive examinations
- Thesis writing and oral defense

Comprehensive Examinations
Upon completion of coursework, the students must take and pass a written comprehensive examination.
Thesis Writing and Oral Defense
The thesis is a formal inquiry into a relevant area of Literary and Cultural Studies. This thesis is presented to and defended before a faculty panel.
