Best Legal Management Thesis for SY 2023-2024 Announced

The Department of Marketing and Law awarded the Best Thesis for BS Legal Management to Sofia Ysabel C Ampil, Patricia Denise A Chan Lim, Juliana Dominique Y Chua, Blith Carmel T Gabronino, and Elaine Yi Kei S Sze for their work titled "Reformation of the Tax Policy on Menstrual Hygiene Products: A Study on the Effects of Gender Inequity of the ‘Tampon Tax’ and Its Implications on Women.” Using both a rights-based and socio-economic analysis, the thesis explores the necessity of tax policy reform within the menstrual health product industry to achieve greater gender equity.
As part of the final requirements of the BS Legal Management program, graduating seniors are asked to work in groups to write, defend, and publish a legal paper related to a contemporary application, emerging trend, or innovative practice in business situations, management context, and/or commercial transactions. At the end of the school year, the Legal Management Thesis advisers select the best thesis based on the thesis’ written form and presentation and the application of a legal framework to a business or commercial context.
