Ballatan wins gold for PH in Robotics and Computational Thinking Global Finals

Two Ateneo de Manila Junior High School students, Nathan Ballatan (La Storta/8-Dajani) and Joaquin Jobog (Montserrat/8-Ishida), won medal awards for the Philippines at the Design Thinking with Robotics and Computational Thinking (DrCT) International Competition Global Finals, which were held online on June 4, 2022. Competing in the Secondary 1/Grade 7 division, Ballatan and Jobog won gold and bronze awards, respectively.
The results also revealed that Ballatan achieved a School Rank of 1, a Country Rank of 2, and a Global Rank of Gold 10. Jobog, on the other hand, achieved a School Rank of 2, a Country Rank of 5, and a Global Rank of Bronze 1.

The DrCT competition provides students with a platform to learn about informatics and robotics in a creative and globally competitive way. It cultivates the participants’ logical reasoning ability and computational thinking skills, enabling them to solve everyday problems by leveraging the power of computers and information technology.
Participating countries in the DrCT global finals included Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
