Following the third edition of the All-Ateneo Business Case Competition (AABCC), Ateneo de Manila University emerged as the champion of the event held online through Zoom last April 8, 2022.
Team Ateneo de Manila is composed of Regina Mae Yu (3 BS Management Engineering), Julianne Co (3 BS Management Honors), Jeff Nathan Mearns (3 BS Management Engineering and AB Economics Honors), and Kristine Mae Saycon (3 BS Management Honors). Yu also received the best speaker award of the competition. They were mentored by Mr. Immanuel Gabriel Sin, Mr. James Soriano, and Ms. Timi Fandino.
The judges of the said competition were Cindy’s KFC Motolite Group Consultant, Jesse Cruz; Uratex Group of Companies Managing Director, Peachy Medina; and the Chief Operating Officer of the New Moto Marketing Corporation, Ramon Santos.
“I want to congratulate all the teams,” Mr. Cruz said during the judges’ comments portion at the end of the event. “You are superb because you are given six hours to solve corporate and business challenges. [...] There are always learnings for every experience. All in all, congratulations [on] doing a superb job.”
On the other hand, Ms. Medina was “very pleasantly surprised” by the quality of the presentations under time pressure. She noted that “Ateneo management schools are really doing a good job and are all in line with our vision to produce business leaders. The future of business leaders in the Philippines is good and I am comforted with that.”
Mr. Santos also provided his own insights. “Never lose that sight of being magis [...] That is what being an Atenean is about,” he said. “Whatever learnings you have in school, see to it that you don’t maintain [those] learnings within the school level. As you go out to the outside world and the corporate world, bring these learnings and be the best of what you can be. [...] We did our part, and in our own small way, we made a difference for our youth and for the country as well.”
The first runner-up and the second runners-up were teams Ateneo de Davao University and Ateneo de Naga University, respectively.
Team Ateneo de Davao is composed of Jose Delviemar Albano (4 BS Accountancy), Ralph Rae Pahinado (3 BS Human Resource Development and Management), Raphaella Marie Gupiteo (4 BS Marketing), and Thalia Teng (4 BS Business Management).
