About the Symposium

The Symposium on Philippine-China Relations carries the theme Opportunities and Challenges, with the goal of building a stable relation between the Republic of the Philippines and People’s Republic of China.

A platform for discourse on challenges, opportunities, and possibilities for building a stable bilateral political, economic, or socio-cultural relations between the parties, the Symposium is a space for dialogue and exchange between scholars, practitioners, and experts in diverse but interrelated fields.

Symposium FAQs

Registration

What time does the Symposium start, and what time does it end?
The Symposium is a whole-day event, starting at 9:00AM and ending at 5:00PM.

If I am later unable to attend, is it possible to transfer my registration?
For logistical reasons, registration is personal, and cannot be transferred to another person.

I have registered through the QR code. Is my registration confirmed?
Yes. A confirmation email will also be sent to your registered email address by 10 December 2022.

If I am later unable to physically attend, how do I cancel my registration?
Feel free to watch the livestream of the Symposium on Facebook and Youtube. If you need to cancel, please send an email to chinesestudies.soss@ateneo.edu to cancel your registration.

How do I register for the Symposium?

Can I still register on the day of the event?
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register to ensure smooth entry into the campus. Pre-registration also helps us count you in for meals and information packets.

Preparing for the Event

Is there a dress code for attending the Symposium?
Participants are requested to come in business casual attire.

Are meals included with my registration?
A full-day registration by December 10 provides you access to all of the presentations and social and networking receptions that make up the Symposium, including lunch and coffee breaks.

I will bring a vehicle. Where can I park?
Parking is available within the Ateneo campus at the Northwest Carpark on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see map for directions.

Event Proper

Will internet access be available to participants?
Yes. Wifi will be available throughout the Symposium. Details will be made available at the registration area set up on the day of the event.

What do I do when I arrive at the Leong Hall?
Please proceed to the registration table to claim your information packet. An information packet will contain information about the Symposium and its organizers, as well as an ID which will entitle you to attendance at all sessions, meals, and receptions.

Are presentations going to be made available to participants?

Post Event

I attended the Symposium. Will I receive a certificate of attendance/participation?
An e-certificate will be issued to you after you shall have filled up our post-event survey. Stay tuned during the Symposium for announcements.
