Grade 2 Atenean Rohan Francisco clinches silver for PH in Thailand math contest

Representing the Philippines, Rohan Francisco of Ateneo de Manila Grade School (2-Dao) clinched a Silver Medal at the prestigious International Talent Mathematics Contest (ITMC), held from 22-25 February 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Rohan's achievement contributed to the Philippines' strong showing at the competition, where the national team brought home a total of 42 medals: 2 Gold, 6 Silver, and 34 Bronze. The ITMC drew nearly 600 mathematically gifted students from 10 countries, including Thailand, Brazil, Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
The ITMC is a distinguished global competition designed to nurture and showcase the mathematical talents of students worldwide. Established by Thai Talent Training, the ITMC aims to enhance students' mathematical skills and foster international camaraderie among young math enthusiasts.
Beyond the competition, the ITMC emphasizes cultural exchange. Participants engage in educational tours of historical sites and share cultural performances. The event culminates in a Gala Dinner held at the Royal Thai Navy Auditorium, where awards are presented and students celebrate their achievements together.
