Next on Conversations on Service: Ms Me-An Ignacio
05 Mar 2025

To commemorate the call of Fr Pedro Arrupe SJ for graduates of Jesuit institutions to be "persons-for-others", we've launched the video series "Conversations on Service: Engaging Fr Arrupe's Call Today."
Our next guest for this video series is Ms Me-An Ignacio. A graduate of Ateneo de Manila's BS Management Honors Program in 1981, Me-An Ignacio has dedicated her life to serving the poor in various capacities throughout her career. She led the Foundation for the Development of the Urban Poor for many years, addressing the need for capability building, organizing, and land tenure security. She worked for the government for some time, helping shape government policies on housing and cooperative development. As the co-founder of Kasagana-ka Development Center Inc (KDCI), she played a crucial role in empowering microentrepreneurs and advocating for policies recognizing microfinance as a key driver of national development.
Her journey reflects a relentless commitment to social change for which she was awarded by Ateneo de Manila University the Ozanam Award in 2023. Her legacy continues to inspire social development advocates, NGO workers, and microfinance communities, proving that real impact begins with a deep belief in the power of others.
We invite everyone to watch this next installment of our Conversations on Service video series featuring Ms Me-An Ignacio this coming Saturday, 8 March 2025, at 7pm, on Ateneo de Manila's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
