Ateneo de Manila Grade School's very first robotics varsity was named Best Rookie Team in the 14th FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League Philippines tournament held on Saturday, 8 February 2025, at Dr Yanga Colleges Inc (DYCI) in Bocaue, Bulacan. The team's gold medal-winning members are Trent Ignacio (6-Brebeuf), Yñigo Tipan (5-Bagobo), Tobias Hermeno (5-Ifugao), Enzo Ramos (6-Kostka), Audric Lazo (6-Canisius), Jozef Rebueno (6-Hurtado), Sid Adoremos (6-Brebeuf), Iñigo Ligon (6-Bellarmine), Joshua Demontaño (6-Hurtado), and Joaquin Sanchez (5-Kalinga). They were coached by Mr Luis Aenlle and Mr Cristian Ballena.

With the theme “Submerged,” the competition challenged participating teams to “use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they ‘sea’ into the future.” The competition had two main components, the Innovation Project and the Robot Game. For the Innovation Project, teams researched a real-world problem and proposed a creative solution. In the Robot Game, teams designed and programmed a LEGO robot to complete themed missions on a game field. Both challenges promoted teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.
The AGS also acknowledges the invaluable support of Ms. Noelle Amor and Mrs. Rozelle Sanchez for their contributions to the research and preparation of the team.
