Ateneo de Manila Senior High School's Christian Life Education (CLE) Subject Area and Campus Ministry Office have organized an exhibit entitled “Pantas,” which features images of saints who have been declared as Doctors of the Church or “mga Pantas ng Simbahan in Filipino.”
According to Rev Fr Larry Rice, “Doctor of the Church” is a title given by the Catholic Church to saints recognized as having made a significant contribution to theology or doctrine through their research, study, or writing. Among the thousands of recognized saints, only 37 (by far) have been honored with this title, and all 37 Doctors of the Church are featured in the exhibit.
“Pantas” aims to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the canonization and declaration as a Doctor of the Church of St. Peter Canisius - the first Jesuit to be honored with that title - and to inspire the community with the words and works of these wise saints.
The exhibit was formally opened at 10:15 am on Tuesday, 4 February 2025, with ASHS administrators, faculty, and members of the CLE Subject Area in attendance. ASHS Chaplain Fr Noel Bava SJ blessed the images.

“Pantas” is being held in the foyer of the ASHS FLC Building in front of the Gonzaga Chapel. It is open to the public during school hours Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturday, 15 February 2025, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm as well. Visitors who do not have an Ateneo student/employee ID or car sticker must present a valid ID at the gate to enter the Ateneo de Manila campus.
