Paco Javier wins gold for PH in 2024 Thailand Math Olympiad

Representing the Philippines, eight Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathletes secured one gold, four silver, and two bronze medals in the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Final Round, which was held onsite in Bangkok, Thailand, and online from 26-28 April 2024 (the test was administered on 27 April 2024).
Paco Javier (7-Alfonso) led the awardees, winning a gold medal in the Secondary 1 division.

Jointly organized by Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) from Hong Kong and the Thailand Mathematics Society, the TIMO is an annual international competition is designed to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics and strengthen their creative thinking.
The TIMO Final Round 2024 was a significant international event, drawing over 900 participants to the onsite competition and more than 4,500 online attendees from a diverse range of countries including Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
