Four AGS mathletes win gold for PH in 2023-2024 Thailand Olympiad

Representing the Philippines, 12 Ateneo de Manila Grade School mathletes won four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals for their respective grade levels in the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Final Round 2023-2024, which was held onsite in Bangkok, Thailand, and online from 26-28 April 2024 (the test was administered on 27 April 2024).

Jointly organized by Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) from Hong Kong and the Thailand Mathematics Society, the TIMO is an annual international competition is designed to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics and strengthen their creative thinking.
The TIMO Final Round 2024 was a significant international event, drawing over 900 participants to the onsite competition and more than 4,500 online attendees from a diverse range of countries including Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Among the Ateneans who represented the Philippines onsite at the TIMO Final Round was eventual gold medalist Vico Babaran.
