Sam Dionisio grabs gold for PH in Singapore Math Challenge

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathlete Sam Dionisio (11-Borja) won an Exemplary (Gold) Award for the Philippines in the Singapore Math Challenge (SMC) 2024, which was held on September 8, 2024 via online and onsite modalities.

Her award was among the 57 Exemplary/Gold Awardees, 60 Outstanding/Silver Awardees, and 121 Commendable/Bronze Awardees won by Team Philippines in the international competition.
As one of SMC 2024’s top achievers, Sam will have the opportunity to showcase her talents on the global stage as she has been invited to compete at the Singa Math Global Finals (SMGF) 2025.
Organized by the Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC), SMC is a rigorous exam designed to provide critical formative data for teachers, parents, and school administrators regarding students' skills and readiness for more advanced critical thinking. The competition also serves as a benchmark that measures students’ performance against the globally recognized Singapore math curriculum, which is known for its effectivity in teaching mathematical concepts using a more visual approach.
