The Holy Rosary, a means to get closer to God who loves everyone
The rosary is a set of repeated prayers accompanied by the meditation on important events in the life of Jesus and Mary. This rich collection of prayers bears fruits of Christian values like faith, hope, and love. With these values, all are moved to love and serve people especially those in need.
In Ateneo, students are known to bring their rosaries in their pockets every day. They bring them so they can pray the different mysteries of the rosary anywhere and at any time of the day. When students graduate from Ateneo,
rosaries are also given to them as "pabaon." This sacred object reminds them that wherever they are, no matter how far apart they are from one another, they are still connected in love and prayers.
In one of the public audiences of Pope Francis at the Vatican in 2020, he addressed the public, "I invite you to pray the rosary and to carry it in your hands or in your pockets. The recitation of the rosary is the most beautiful prayer we can offer to the Virgin Mary; it is a contemplation on the stages of the life of Jesus the Savior with his Mother Mary and is a weapon that protects us from evils and temptations."
Let us pray the rosary and live out the values it teaches us.
Viva la Virgen de Santo Rosario!
