ASOG ExecEd conducts workshop with HRep executives on public policy formulation and analysis

The Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), through the Executive Education Program, in partnership with the Institute for Policy, Strategy, and Developmental Studies, Inc. (IPSDI) and the House of Representatives (HRep), held an exclusive whole day face-to-face training on May 23, 2024 at the House of Representatives. 40 selected mid to top level officers were invited to attend the “Public Policy Formulation and Analysis for Leaders” course to enhance their ability to craft effective public policies, critically analyze policy impacts, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios within their professional roles.   

The training emphasizes strategic thinking, evidence-based decision-making, and the practical application of policy tools and frameworks. Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV, an ASoG Professor of Praxis, delivered a comprehensive lecture on the foundations and applications of public policy. Through interactive breakout sessions, participants engaged in problem-solving and crafted their own policy alternatives.

The Honorable Reginald S. Velasco, Secretary General of the House of Representatives and Dr. Romulo Emmanuel Miral, Jr., Deputy Secretary-General of the Congressional Policy and Budget Department were also present and delivered their closing and opening remarks respectively.

ASoG Dean Philip Arnold P. Tuaño also delivered his video-recorded closing remarks and thanked the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, Former Senator Trillanes, and the participants for their participation and commitment throughout the training.

Certificates of completion and ASoG collaterals were awarded to participants who completed the whole day training.
