Pollinate Impact’s Peer Powered Workshop, led by expert facilitators Arielle Molino and Shami Rao, continued with its Southeast Asia edition by heading to Manila last 16 May 2024.

The event was held in collaboration with Villgro Philippines and boasted an attendance of 32 participants, all of whom are part of 18 different incubators from all over Metro Manila and other cities in the Philippines. Among this impactful roster was Benjamin Mirasol from the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO).

Workshop attendees discussed challenges being experienced by the Philippine market and brainstormed solutions to these problems. Among the issues discussed were sustainability strategies of incubators, entrepreneurs’ commitment to the incubation/acceleration program, as well as the contextual and effective support needed by entrepreneurs based in geographically spread out areas.

Here are key solutions presented by the workshop’s participants:

Sustainability strategies of incubators

  • Establishment of collaborative funding opportunities between incubators and accelerators
  • Building of a two-way street with funders to advocate for the development of more effective, innovative, and sector-specific funding strategies
  • Crafting of purposeful narratives via shared data at an ecosystem level rather than at individual organizational levels

Entrepreneurs’ commitment to the incubation/acceleration program

  • Improvement of the screening and selection process by understanding entrepreneurs' needs, and having well-articulated value add and expectations of the program

Contextual and effective support needed by entrepreneurs based in geographically spread out areas

  • Stronger collaboration with experts for a more localized context on the situations in geographically spread out areas

Pollinate Impact is a non-profit organization driven by its global network of impact incubators.
