Argonza and Javier grab gold in Thailand Math Olympiad's PH round

Eight Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathletes secured two gold, three silver, and three bronze medals in the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Heat Round, which was held online on October 22, 2023.
Winning gold medals were Gerrico Argonza (8-Fernandes) and Paco Javier (7-Alfonso), who competed in the Secondary 2 and Secondary 1 divisions, respectively.

Claiming silver were Gab Asuncion (7-Alvares) and Enzo Hernandez (7-Balmain)- whose medals were for the Secondary 1 category- and Nathan Ballatan (9-Grimaltos), whose silver was for the Secondary 3 category.

Bagging bronzes were Miggy Dugan (10-Rodrigues), Joey Enriquez (8-Colombiere) and Aegean Nakila (9-Ishida), whose medals were for the Senior Secondary, Secondary 2, and Secondary 3 divisions, respectively.

The TIMO is an annual international competition jointly organized by Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) from Hong Kong and the Thailand Mathematics Society. It is designed to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics and strengthen their creative thinking.
All TIMO Heat Round medalists were invited to join the TIMO Final Round, which was held onsite in Bangkok, Thailand, and online from April 26-29, 2024.
