Team Ateneo is 1st runner-up of GeoQuiz

Composed of one Ateneo de Manila Junior High School student (Jose Ignacio of 10-Regis) and two Ateneo de Manila Senior High School students (CJ Janda of 11-Realino and Angela Santelices of 11-San Vitores), AJHS-ASHS Team B emerged as the 1st runner-up/silver winner of GeoQuiz: An Earth Science Competition on April 6, 2024. The Ateneans earned 52 points, behind eventual champion Philippine Science High School SOCCSKSARGEN, which garnered 56 points.
AJHS-ASHS Team A- whose members are Laurice Bay (11-Wright), Cherlyn Bacara (11-Nakaura), and Miguel Oliva (10-Rodrigues)- made it to the top ten.
GeoQuiz was one of the activities of the 11th National Geology Congress, which was held from April 5-6, 2024, at the National Science Complex in University of the Philippines Diliman. The event attracted around a hundred student participants from public and private schools in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Teams A & B were trained for GeoQuiz and accompanied to the Congress by ASHS faculty Cheo Crispino (ASHS Science Training Team head trainer and coach) & Jeng Uy (Earth Science coach).
