Lenten Reflection: Rerouting

Lenten Reflection: Rerouting

Part of the usefulness and intelligence of navigation apps like Waze and Google Maps is when they reroute and find the way that can still lead us to our destination even when we get lost or make a wrong turn. While we may be delayed a bit, we can find assurance that we will still end up where we want to go. For sure, some of us wish that such a rerouting function or app can be availed of even in other aspects of our life.

And the truth is: we do have that. Not in the form of a high-tech invention or device but through the most fundamental and foundational essence of why we are here. Love and God. Because of Christ, we have been given a choice to reroute. From the compassion of the Father, we can turn around and change direction from sin and darkness. Despite the mistakes we may have made, we can find comfort that we can still end up in the destination we desire deep in our hearts.

This Lent gives us greater opportunities to reflect if we want to stay on the course of our own human follies or go on the path to salvation. Same with Waze ang Google Maps, we are not forced to follow where God is leading us to. But we can be certain that the Lord will always whisper to us ways we can reroute to go back into His embrace. And so we can ask ourselves: How have I strayed from my Creator? What are repeated temptations to turn away from His will and love? Where am I being led at this point in my life?

Pag-ibig at Diyos.
