Ateneo GS places 2nd in Mathlympics-Philippines

Ateneo de Manila Grade School mathletes Xavvi Lopez (5-Mangyan), Matty Trinidad (5-Dumagat), Martin Gan (6-Pignatelli), and Daniel Roh (6-Faber) each won a silver medal in the final round of Mathlympics-Philippines, which was held online on 5 November 2022. In addition, Ateneo de Manila Grade School received a trophy for placing 2nd overall thanks to the medal finishes of our boys.

Among the schools which also participated in Mathlympics-Philippines were De La Salle Zobel, Marist School, UNO High School, and Xavier School San Juan.
The elimination round was held online on 22 October, while the finals were held online on 5 November 2022. The awarding ceremony was held on 28 January 2023, at Marist School in Marikina.
Mathlympics is a highly esteemed and prestigious Math Olympiad that has been held in Singapore for the past 14 years, with more than 40,000 Singapore students participating over the years. In its 15th year in 2022, the Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) took the competition to countries such as Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, China, India, and Indonesia for the first time. The topics covered by Mathlympics include Arithmetic, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Logic, Geometry, Measurement, and Algebra.
Our grade 6 boys were coached for Mathlympics-Philippines by Mr. Javier Inumerable, while the grade 5 students were coached by Mrs. Rosario Perfecto & Mrs. Marie Guevara.
