The HKIMO Final Round 2022 attracted hundreds of participants from countries such as Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. This year’s medalists won 479 golds, 536 silvers, and 502 bronzes across the 10 age groups.
The HKIMO provides a platform for pupils with a strong interest in mathematics, and is open to all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It is different from other math Olympiads in that it offers standardized topics such as Logical Thinking, Arithmetic/Algebra, Number Theory, Geometry and Combinatorics. Its goals are to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics, strengthen their creative thinking, and widen their international perspective.
